INTRODUCTION :
Hello guys!!! firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Muhammad Shah Haikal Bin Mohd Erwan and I'm from Negeri Sembilan. As you can see I'm a student from UITM Pahang Kampus Jengka and my course is Pre-Diploma in Agrotechnology AT001.To illustrate, this is a blog about UED 102 study Skills that all new UITM's student will learn during their interim week. Today i want to talk about Taking Lecture Notes.What is the best way to take notes from a lecture? Let's see.
TAKING LECTURE NOTES
Notes are source of knowledge that we record during learning time. Lots of ideas for making notes,
example:
1.) Create a presentation
2.) Evaluate your knowledge
3.) Use mind maps
4.) Structure your essays
5.) Create flash cards
6.) Make infographics
WHY YOU TAKE LECTURE NOTES
Notes can it helps you learn, studies on learning have shown that actively engaging with the topic by listening and then summarizng what you hear helps you understand and remember the information later. Next you can provides an opportunity to interpret ,condense and organize information. Lastly, can provides an oppurtunity for repetition of the material.
INCLUDE IN YOUR NOTES
Math and Science Classes = Listen carefully to main points and the important details and put them in your notes.
Power Point Presentations = Use headings and subheadings in Powerpoint presentations to organize notes.
Online Lecture Notes = Some lecturers choose to post their lecture notes on the course websites.
Discussion classes = Some lecturers prefer the discussion format when teaching.

FOUR STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE LISTENING SKILLS
Firstly, make sure you maintain eye contact with speaker because when you are listening to someone talk, you should avoid looking out a window, texting or scrolling through your phone.Limit any annecessary distractions, provide the speaker with your undivided attention and make an effort to look them. Secondly, visualize what the speaker is saying. Try to conjure up mental images of what the speaker is talking about while you are listening to help retain information. This may be a literal picture or other concepts that relate to the topic. This will help you to remember keywords and phrases when you listen for long periods. Next, wait for a pause to ask questions. You may not understand everything someone says to you. It is best to wait until they pause to ask them to back up and provide clarification for the topic. Finall, practice listening because you can being aware of what you do when someone is talking to you. Do this by writing down what you heard, understood and acknowledged after an in person interaction with someone or listen to audiobooks or podcasts without any text in front of you.
